In August, the national railways' freight delivery continued to maintain a high growth, achieving a freight delivery of 308 million tons, an increase of 21.02 million tons (7.3%) year-on-year. In that period, the national railways registered a daily car loading of 166,000 cars, an increase of 13,000 cars (8.4%) year-on-year, and a single-day car loading of 174,000 cars, marking a record high. The national railway's freight revenue in August reached RMB 34.4 billion, up RMB 1.4 billion (4.2%) year-on-year.
In August, conscientiously following the central government's deployments on "ensuring stability in employment, financial operations, foreign trade, foreign investment, domestic investment and expectations" and "ensuring security in job, basic living needs, operations of market entities, food and energy security, stable industrial and supply chains, and the normal functioning of primary-level governments", China State Railway Group Co., Ltd. has continued to implement freight increase actions, strengthened transportation organization, and actively helped the dual-circulation of domestic and international economy. First, it has fully guaranteed the transportation of thermal coal. It has allocated more transport capacity to major coal-producing areas, and to the coal transport from the west to the east and from the north to the south. It has accurately met the needs of large coal power customers, and strengthened the transportation organization of thermal coal. In August, it has transported 140 million tons of coal, keeping the coal storage in major power plants in China at a high level (enough for 23 days), thus providing a reliable electricity supply for the enterprises' production and residents' living. Second, it has bolstered the freight traffic at railway ports. It has given full play to the 95306 "Digital Port" system, and continuously improved the customs clearance efficiency at railway ports. The railway ports registered a freight traffic of 6.05 million tons in August, an increase of 650,000 tons (12%) year-on-year, which better guarantees the transportation needs of foreign trade enterprises. Third, it has maintained the continuous growth of container traffic. It has continued promoting the highway-to-railway transportation, strengthened the collection and distribution of cargoes at sea ports, and sped up the construction of special railway lines, thus connecting the "first mile" and "last mile" in logistics services. In August, it made a daily container car loading of 34,300 cars, an increase of 9,051 (35.9%) year-on-year. Fourth, it has kept improving the quality of freight services. It has taken initiative to communicate with the enterprise consignors to collect their transportation needs for raw materials and finished products, and provide them with customized transport services. It has scientifically allocated transportation resources, improved the loading and unloading efficiency of ports and logistics yards and stations, and implemented the measures of reduction in taxes and fees to reduce enterprises' logistics costs and provide them with quality services.
In the next step, CHINA RAILWAY will continue to give full play to the railway logistics corridors' advantages in all-weather and large capacity. It will push forward the structural reform of transportation at supply side, and actively adapt itself to the new development pattern of domestic large circulation and domestic and international dual-circulation. It will continuously optimize its freight product structure, and improve its transportation efficiency and service quality, thus guaranteeing the stability of domestic and international industrial chain supply chain, and actively contributing to China's economic and social development.
